A Vision For Temple

Be Grateful for the Open Door

We ask God to guide us to recognize and be grateful for the “open door” the Lord Jesus has set before us in all our ministries. Join in helping us to be good stewards of that open door and the people who walk through it.

In Revelation 3:8 we read Christ’s words to the church in Philadelphia. “‘I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.’” He promises that even though they have “little strength,” their faithfulness in keeping His word has resulted in an “open door” of divine opportunity that no one can shut. This signifies divine favor, mission opportunities, and a secure, unstoppable pathway for ministry.

Break it down

The “Open Door” represents a secure, divinely provided opportunity for sharing the gospel or for service that no human, enemy, or obstacle can stop. It can also be used to symbolize free access to the kingdom of God.

When Jesus speaks of their “little strength,” He is acknowledging the church’s limited resources of influence, indicating that divine work does not require great power, but rather reliance on Him. However, they are praised for their faithfulness keeping God’s word and not denying His name, even under pressure.

This verse serves as a reminder that when God calls believers to spread the faith, He provides the means and opportunities to do so, regardless of obstacles. It encourages staying true to scripture and faith, even when resources are scarce or pressure is high.

Now this day will be a memorial to you, and you shall celebrate it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations you are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance.’

BOOK OF THE MONTH

Bro. Danny says this book is a must read!

The World of the End

In a world that seems to be spinning out of control, we need hope more than ever. What if the life sustaining hope you need is found within the pages of the Bible?

Dr. David Jeremiah, a New York Times bestselling author and trusted Bible teacher, as he unpacks the scriptures to reveal that the problems we are facing are to be expected, and in fact will increase as we draw closer to the End Times. But even more importantly we should not worry since Jesus has overcome the world. And because of this there is hope for this life, but more importantly for the next.

This is a new Paragraph block. Change the text. Here is what Amazon has to say about it:

Our world is packed with lies and loss of trust. Wars and rumors of war. Devastation and disaster. Pressure and persecution. Lawlessness and lovelessness. Some days it seems like bad news all around. And with bad news comes questions: "Why is this happening? When will it stop? What can we do?" And perhaps the most pressing of all: "Is this the end?"

In these hope-filled pages, bestselling author, pastor, and respected Bible teacher Dr. David Jeremiah focuses our attention not on the problems at hand, but on the hand of God. That's because Jesus Himself told us what to expect from this season of history when He delivered His Olivet Discourse—a significant sermon that scholars have called "the most important single passage of prophecy in all the Bible."

In The World of the End, learn how:

  • The Bible has already laid the foundation on how we can live victoriously, even in difficult times
  • Jesus not only calls Christians to a higher standard, but equips us with the tools and strength we need to confidently follow him daily
  • The gospels contain the comfort you need to trust that God is in control and that his plan is still working to completion

With his trademark clarity, Dr. Jeremiah reveals exactly what Jesus promised to us—and what He expects of us—as we approach the World of the End.

Maddie On A Mission

Written By Madelynn Harrell

My name is Madelynn Harrell, and this June 19–26 I will be going on my third mission trip to Belize. Each year our team has the opportunity to serve in the communities of Belmopan and San Ignacio, where we spend time connecting with people, sharing the love of Christ, and helping however we can. One of the main things we do during the trip is door-to-door evangelism, where we visit families in the community, talk with them, pray with them, and share the message of the Gospel. It is always such a meaningful time because we get to hear people’s stories, build relationships, and encourage them spiritually.

Before we go out on the first day we are there, our team prepares bags to give to families in the community. Each bag includes a quart of rice, a quart of beans, and a Bible. Rice and beans are a very common meal in Belize, and one of these bags can feed a family of four. Along with helping meet a physical need, we also want to share God’s Word so families have something that can encourage and guide them spiritually long after we leave.

Throughout the trip we will also hold nightly revival services from Friday through Sunday where the community can come together for worship, preaching, and fellowship. While we often share and build on things that have worked well in the past, we always stay open to change because the Lord often leads us in different directions. Even when our plans shift, we trust that God is guiding each step and using the trip exactly how He intends. It is always such a blessing to serve, love on people, and see how God moves during our time in Belize.

If you would like to donate to Madelynn’s mission trip, you can do so by:

  • Write a check to the church and place Madelynn’s name in the “For” blank
