Dear Church Family,

I wanted to address the spiritual attack that came during our service this past Sunday morning, October 5, 2025.

First, this is exactly what it was—a spiritual attack. Ephesians 6:10-12 tells us, “10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Many of you have contacted me because you sensed it. That’s so encouraging because it’s evidence you are discerning and sensitive to spiritual things by the Spirit who lives within you.

All of you who have contacted me have said the same things: “Was it me?” or “It was me.” This is so encouraging. I’ll explain. Romans 8:28 tells us, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Even a spiritual attack is utilized for good under the sovereignty of God.

What was meant to be destructive was used by the Lord to accomplish something wonderful. The comments you made and questions you asked—“Was it me?” and “It was me”—are evidence of humility and a willingness to self-examine and repent if necessary. I’ve done the same. Our stopping the service and calling for the elders to pray was a teaching moment for newer believers and a reminder to mature believers that spiritual war is real, but there are effective weapons against it.

No one person is responsible for what happened Sunday. This was an attack on the church as a whole, due to the Kingdom work we’re involved in. We are reaching many, many people with the Gospel. We are working to realign our thoughts and beliefs with the Word of God. We are holding our Christianity up to the plumb line of Scripture and adjusting it to be in accordance with what Jesus actually taught and lived.

We have confronted “Cultural Christianity.” Now we are confronting “Political Christianity”—two syncretistic, false versions of Biblical Christianity. These are pervasive and widespread doctrines of demons that are carefully guarded due to their effectiveness in deceiving people. These doctrines have successfully injected politics and popular culture into Christianity. Biblical truth has been and is being reinterpreted by the influence of politics, culture, and the evil desires of man. While the Bible instructs us to be subject to governing authorities in Romans 13, this does not mean that we allow the thoughts, ways, and documents of man to redefine Biblical truth and Biblical Christianity. Jesus the King gives our orders and sets the ultimate, unalterable standard and example for Biblical Christianity.

This is territory that will not be willingly surrendered by the “evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world,” the “mighty powers in this dark world,” and the “evil spirits in the heavenly places,” because it’s an effective method of the devil to keep people in prisons of delusion.

However, we are in service to the King, Jesus Christ, and “we are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Therefore, we are to “take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, 15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:13-18).

Stand firm, church. Hold the line.

In His Service and in His Love,

Pastor Shane
